Cycle Adirondacks mission is to grow and support bicycle tourism in New York’s Adirondack Park. Our flagship event is The Ultimate Cycling Vacation,  an annual award winning, fully supported weeklong road cycling tour of one of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the world.

History

Created in 2015 by Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Adirondack Program Director Zoë Smith, Cycle Adirondacks began as a weeklong bicycle tour designed to connect people with one of the most spectacular places in North America. Her goal was to create a low-impact tourism opportunity that provides economic alternatives for local communities. What resulted was a word class eco-tourism event that continues to help strengthen the natural-resource based economy in this rural area.

Award Winning

In fact, Cycle Adirondacks won a Partner In Tourism award from the New York State Tourism Association after the 2016 event hosted over 300 cyclists from 35 different states and provinces. Many of whom were visiting the Adirondacks for the first time.

It didn’t take long for the weeklong tour became known as one of the most all-inclusive, amenity rich tours in the country by featuring locally sourced dining, unique nightly music and entertainment, and delicious NY craft beer and wine, all with outstanding organization and support. In other words, “The Ultimate Cycling Vacation.”

Growing Bicycle Tourism

The success of The Ultimate Cycling Vacation has since led to Cycle Adirondacks support of two incredible day rides, Ride for the River and Bike The Barns. Cycle Adirondacks is now at the forefront of driving and shaping bicycle tourism in the Adirondacks and surrounding region.
